Socially shaming lockdown protestors: a way to stifle free-thinking

As protests against totalitarian COVID-1984 restrictions increase, it certainly makes for an amusing study of how governments resort to social shaming (instead of data and logic) to control people. God forbid a politician criticize us!

In this video, Ontario Premiere Doug Ford refers to protesters of COVID-19 containment measures as “selfish” “yahoos” who are “absolutely irresponsible” involved in “reckless” behaviour that puts “everyone in jeopardy.” Plenty of chastisement in that speech, yet no data, facts or stats. Instead, would not putting one million Canadians out of work, over a virus with the same fatality rate as the seasonal flu, be far more reckless than standing in front of Queen’s Park? It’s not just about money, but things money buys… like food, shelter, clean water, clothes.

Ford even goes on to make the ironic comment that “99.9% of people in this province are working together, side-by-side [to fight COVID-19]”. When, indeed, millions are not allowed to work, and certainly not “side-by-side.” Instead, have not good-hearted citizens been shamed, forced or tricked into embracing future poverty, isolation and tyranny?

Ford praises how we’ve been able to “flatten the curve.” Does not this only mean we’ve prolonged the epidemic, avoided herd immunity and ensured the dire “second wave” as Dr. Knut Wittkowski and other independent scientists have stated?

Ford also says that it was illegal what the people were doing in Queen’s Park. Peaceful protests against the government are now illegal? What kind of country do we now live in where The Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act can land you in jail for one year for sharing a meal with four of your friends, going to church or letting your kids play at a playground? Can you spell USSR?

In contrast, in this interview Dr. Ron Paul, a retired medical doctor and US congressman, says: “…anything you can do to get [lockdowns and social distancing] stopped and reversed by peaceful means — we ought to do it.”

In the same interview, Dr. Paul also explains how government reactions to previous pandemics caused great harm; how death rates from COVID-19 are being artificially inflated; and how the pharmaceutical industry is openly seeking to profit off of COVID-19 with dangerous vaccines (rather than let us develop natural immunity).

Please take the time to review those links and try to separate the propaganda from the facts. And if you can brave a little “social shaming” please do what you can to spread this information to others and your elected representatives. As one British Judge we shouldn’t be timid about sparing politicians public criticism for irresponsible behaviour that will likely cost the lives of tens of thousands.
