Is COVID-19 just a frightening new name for a “really bad cold?”

Many people are unclear as to the difference between being tested positive for the coronavirus and actually having the disease known as COVID-19.

As Dr. Joseph Mercola explains in his analysis of laboratory testing: “COVID-19 is NOT [merely] a positive test [for SARS-COV-2]; it is a clinical diagnosis of someone infected with SARS-COV-2 exhibiting severe respiratory illness characterized by fever, coughing and shortness of breath.”

I would add, as I have written about previously, pneumonia would also be present. At the very least, it should follow, if a deceased person is to be counted as a COVID-19 death. The original name for COVID-19 was, in fact, novel coronavirus-infected pneumonia.

In many ways COVID-19 seems like a new name for what we used to call a “really bad cold.” For, as Wikipedia confirms, about 15% of colds are “implicated” by “human coronaviruses.”

But the common cold doesn’t kill people, does it? Yes, it does.

“Most people recover within about 7-10 days,” says the CDC in Common Colds: Protect Yourself and Others. “However, people with weakened immune systems, asthma, or respiratory conditions may develop serious illness, such as bronchitis or pneumonia.”

Sound familiar?

“The media is intentionally confusing a positive test result with COVID-19 to deliberately mislead the public into believing the disease is far more serious than it is,” concludes Mercola. “They know better but consciously choose this despicable practice.”

Dr. Mercola runs the world’s most visited natural health website. I highly recommend reading his full analysis of the consistent inaccuracies in COVID-19 testing and reporting.

As Mercola concludes: “The only rational reason for any of the government interventions is to continue to erode your personal freedoms and civil liberties and transfer wealth to those in control. It’s all fearmongering based on a combination of wildly manipulated data and flawed tests.”
