COVID BREAKOUT: A funny Father’s Day poem (for my imprisoned Dad)

My 92-year-old father and (not-so-old) mother live in a private retirement home (no cockroaches) only a twenty minute walk down the street. Yet, I haven’t seen my parents since March. The Ministry of Health says keeping them under house arrest for three months is best for their health; justifying it with their falsified COVID-19 death rates.

I’m delivering my Dad the following Father’s day poem this afternoon. I thought you might enjoy a little COVID humour:

COVID BREAKOUT

How sad that on Father’s Day
COVID’s locked you away.
But just give me a shout
If you want to break out!

In the middle of the night
Much like a kite
I’ll throw up a rope.
And, with a little hope,
You and Mom can slide down
Without making a sound.
We’ll make a run for the river
Though they chase us with quivers.

We’ll dive in the lake,
When, for goodness sake,
Swim fast like a fish
If freedom you wish
Until safe on the north shore
COVID prisoners no more.

Feel free (while you can) to share the above poem with any fathers in your life (imprisoned or otherwise).

Tomorrow, I have a revelatory post coming about how blatantly the COVID death rates in Ontario are being inflated. Subscribe, if you haven’t already, so you don’t miss it.
