Above is a photo is of myself with retired psychologist Dr. Éva Székely, her husband, retired statistics professor Douglass Bors and my son Jonah Aaron Manley (of JonahsWorld.net).

Back in the summer of 2021, Éva reviewed a beta copy of Much Ado About Corona, helped greatly in crafting the villain and sent me this kind review:

In Much Ado About Corona, John C. A. Manley weaves a fascinating, entertaining, and sometimes very sad story, full of irony and subtle humour about this “Nothing” (sorry, “Corona”) that has altered our lives in these last two years in fundamental ways.

The protagonist’s narrative is full of sarcasm, openness and directness. The other characters are a colourful medley of people representative of Canada’s various ethnicity. Scenes depicting them engaged in helping those especially hard hit by the measures are heart warming and outright hilarious.

A great read in any season, a wonderful gift for any occasion and I especially recommend it for book clubs!

Dr. Éva Székely was a clinical psychologist for a Toronto hospital. She taught graduate courses on psychological assessment and treatment, in addition to consulting with an insurance company on psychological issues. She’s written scholarly papers, is the author of Never Too Thin and has contributed chapters to other books on psychological issues.  She is also the daughter of a holocaust survivor and grew up under a communist regime in Hungary.
